A study of seven European cities where new urbanism puts existing industrial waterfronts and working sites at the heart of new mixed- use precincts. Cities visited include Paris, Sheffield, Stockholm, Gdansk, Riga, Odessa and Vladivostock.

This research aims to understand and document the emergence of a new mode of industrial urbanism in Europe, where a number of nineteenth century cities have maintained their industrial function but integrated public programmes and access to the spaces around industry creating a new paradigm in urban waterfront space.
