Mark Gerada / 1994
Architectural Practice, Education, Architectural Drawing
Europe
On his study tour the author used a process of “learning by doing”. He investigated cities, villages and rural landscapes by breaking down the elements he perceived then painting them to make them more comprehensible. In this way he aimed to understand and organise what he saw and understood, and further develop his understanding and communication skills.
The author explored painting as a way of beginning and developing design, and continuing self-education in art and architecture following formal education.
