A study of the model in the design process in contemporary European practice. This research explores the long-established tradition of innovation and experimentation with models in European architectural practice. The author interviews leading architects, modelmakers, and educators about the integration of the model into their design process. Through these interviews they provide insight into the behind-the-scenes workings of some of Europe’s most successful offices.

The report suggests directions for the future and reflects on how we can progress the practice of architectural modelmaking.
