NSW based architects recognised in Queens Birthday honours

Just six months after the President of the Board, Richard Thorp was appointed as a member of the Order of Australia, two more NSW-based architects were recognised for their significant service to architecture and the profession in the Queen's Birthday honours list on 8 June 2015. Robert (Bob) Nation was recognised for his significant service to architecture and environmental design as a practitioner, to higher education and to professional organizations.

With major, awarded buildings in Sydney , Melbourne, Adelaide, Hobart and Canberra, Bob Nation also pioneered a presence for Australian architects internationally; working extensively across Asia.

A former national president of the Australian Institute of Architects, Bob Nation was appointed a Life Fellow of the Institute in 2006.

Malcolm Levy was recognised for his service to sailing and to architecture. First registered in 1974, Malcolm Levy has served almost continuously in a range of roles that advanced the professional practice of architects and architecture; including as an examiner and convenor with the Board, and as a long standing contributor to the Practice Committee of the Australian Institute of Architects.

The Board congrats both Bob Nation AM and Malcolm Levy OAM for this recognition by the Australian community.
